“When I showed up to my first virtual guitar lesson with Trevor all I had was a couple chords and I couldn’t tell you what they were called. I decided to sign up for lessons as a way to really learn the guitar, to “not put it down this time” and to hold accountable. By the end of the first lesson, Trevor helped me find a song that I could simplify and start working towards (playing and singing), but the important thing here was that it was a song I liked. He gave me options, and he made sure I chose a song that I would want to play. And so it stuck.
From the start, Trevor made sure he understood my goals so he could guide me and my learning path accordingly, which I am so appreciative of. It kept everything fun, and it was always a buildup to where I wanted to be, what I wanted to play, and the skills I wanted to develop. Still working on this of course.
That turned into about 3 years of lessons where we touched on so many things – mostly on the guitar: chords, progressions, playing & singing, scales, songs, playing in time and with a metronome, finger style, and he even helped me with a few lessons on bass and piano among countless other things.
What is so great about Trevor’s teaching style to me is his ability to teach you in the direction of your own goals, not some general progression of song and chord difficulty. I was able to bring my questions every week, or a song I was working on, and he would help me work through the pieces that I was having trouble with.
From early in our lessons I expressed to Trevor that I wanted to write songs and play at an open mic or two. That was my sort of “pipe dream” or “one day” goal. That and to record music. And as I write this I am in the process of recording a 6 song EP and am playing my first open mic tonight.
So I write this with gratitude for Trevor as an incredible teacher that I would recommend to anyone.
My recommendation to the student: practice as often as you can, bring your list of questions every week, and try to get a little better for every lesson!”

“Trevor’s been my piano teacher for just over 5 years, and during that time, he’s been nothing short of an exceptional teacher. Coming from a previous piano teacher in Hong Kong, I knew I lacked self-confidence and a repertoire that I could be passionate about. Under his wing, I was able to explore music I enjoyed, while also challenging myself. I would struggle on excerpts, but his patience was a breath of fresh air that allowed me to gain self-confidence during my learning journey. Overall, I would greatly recommend Trevor to anyone wishing to both further their skills in piano and find music to enjoy!”

“Before working with Trevor on mixing and mastering of my music, though the sound was good it still lacked that extra quality that playlists and radio stations look for in order to feature music. Trevor really brought my music next level in terms of mixing and mastering, adding more life and highlighting the energy of each song on a new level.
Communication with Trevor about projects and ideas has always been good and understanding, making the artist able to clearly communicate what they look for in the mix, process updates and the final result.
Since Trevor began working with me on the mixing and mastering of my music, the sound became more enjoyable for listeners, and as artist I had more playlist placements – most importantly, I’m always pleased with the results of Trevor’s work on mixing and mastering. I recommend working with Trevor to other artists as well.”
